Biography

Biography

Born and raised in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Jeroen van Unen descended from a lineage where creativity is not a choice, but a way of life—flowing, persistent, undeniable. His grandfather, Piet van Unen, founded the first painting school in Rotterdam, creating a legacy that continues to echo through generations to this day. For Jeroen, creativity was never something to be discovered, it was always there.
After graduating from art school, he stepped into the world of advertising and communication, where he built a successful career as an art and creative director. For years, he shaped bold campaigns, designing images that stopped people in their tracks. But beneath the surface, something deeper kept calling.
And eventually, art called louder.
He answered.
Leaving behind the world of commercial creation, Jeroen returned to the vital force that had always defined him. Today, his work moves freely across styles—contemporary art, raw realism, expressive figurative work, urban influences, graphic compositions, lettering, even tattoo art. Style, for him, is not a limitation but an opportunity—fluid, evolving, alive.
What matters is not the category, but the impact.
The moment.
The wow.
His work is built on stopping power—the ability to arrest time, to pull the viewer into a space where color breathes, forms collide, and energy becomes visible. Each piece is an invitation. Each canvas, a presence.
And as you move through his world—through this space of color, texture, and layered expression—you don’t just observe.
You feel it.

For Jeroen, art is not something you look at.
It’s something that looks back.
